Evelyn Hart Watson Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The applicant must be a Biology major undertaking laboratory research in the Department of Biology and have a GPA of at least 3.0. A student may apply for either an upcoming academic year or summer fellowship. Expectations of the workload for an academic year fellowship would be 3-5 hours per week while a summer fellowship workload would be 6-8 hours per week. Please note that students funded by an additional fellowship source (eg. ICRU Fellowship) should NOT apply both fellowships towards the same number of workload hours. In other words, students on ICRU Fellowship funding will be expected to work above and beyond ICRU workload expectations should they also receive an Evelyn Hart Watson Fellowship.
Application process: 1) A project proposal (3 single-spaced pages maximum): introduction, overall research goals, specific experiments to be undertaken during the Fellowship period, and a brief discussion as to how the applicant’s project fits into the overall research agenda of the laboratory. 2) A brief paragraph indicating the applicant’s academic interests and future plans. 3) A letter of recommendation to be e-mailed by the applicant’s research adviser to Lori Adams (email@example.com) by 5:00pm on April 15, 2019.
