Iowa Scholars Award

This is a scholarship for new incoming first-year U.S. students who are residents of Iowa. Scholarship awarding and amounts are based on outstanding academic merit (standardized test scores and/or GPA) and exceptional promise at the University of Iowa. Award amounts range from $500 to $8500 per year.

Renewable for an additional three years or until bachelor’s a degree is received (whichever comes first), provided continuous full-time enrollment is maintained at the University of Iowa (fall and spring terms) and maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative UI GPA.

The Iowa Scholars Award is awarded automatically to eligible students upon admission. Recipients will be notified by the UI Office of Admissions separate from the Iowa Scholarship Portal.
