Dr. Ken Magid Scholarship for Study Abroad

Eligibility Requirements:

University of Iowa degree-seeking, undergraduate students who intend to pursue an academic internship while embracing the cultural nuances and complexities of life abroad. Eligible applicants, in good academic standing, must be participating in a sponsored for-credit program with an internship component of at least six (6) weeks in duration and 120 hours in a placement.

Special Considerations:

Priority is given to students for whom this is their first-time abroad, who are participating in a program focused on service/improving the greater good and where students go to non-traditional locations. This is also for students who can only afford to participate with additional financial support.

Deadlines:

  • Summer: March 15

Late applications will not be accepted. Applications must be submitted before 11:59 p.m. on the date listed. If you have additional questions, you may contact Teresa Kout, assistant director – scholarships teresa-kout@uiowa.edu

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Committee and processed through Study Abroad in UI International Programs. All applicants will be notified of results via email at the conclusion of the process, several weeks after the application deadline.
